Podcasts as an Important Marketing Tool

Podcasts can be an effective tool for marketing your company. Knowing how to create your own podcasts can launch your website and your business into even greater success than you currently experience. The key to podcasts benefiting your business is to make sure you start out with your goals in mind.

Rather than just linking to podcast files on your website, you have the option of listing your podcasts with distributors, or RSS feeds. Just as in other forms of syndication, it allows people to receive files automatically as new podcasts become available. This will build your reputation while you are getting your name out to prospects and current clients. You can also find sponsors for your podcasts if they are downloaded at a high rate.

You will also need to set up a link on your current website to offers visitors the capability of downloading the podcasts. In addition to this method of advertising, you can list your podcasts with an automatic distribution service, or RSS feeds. When enough people begin subscribing to your podcast on a regular basis, sponsors will be more than willing to offset your production costs.

To get ideas about what makes a successful podcast, find other podcasts to listen to. Copy the features that you like from each one to make your own that much better. Above all, it is important to remember that you should also keep your niche in mind when creating content for a podcast.

The actual production of podcasts requires a computer with a microphone and recording software. When you have created your podcast, you need to post a link on your website making it available for download. You also must add it to any distributors you use as soon as possible.

Another option is to convert your existing video footage into an audio file for podcasts. Although it isn't used as often, pdfs can also be podcast. All the variations and options will be easier to deal with once you have one or two podcasts under your belt and you are comfortable producing content quickly.

Podcasts are especially effective for promoting e-books or regular books. You can get feedback from listeners incredibly quickly. This lets you know if you have a winning concept or not. You can do this even before you have finished a book to know if you're on the right track.

Finally, if you are able to quickly list a dozen topics about which you'd like to inform others, you have the makings of a regular podcast. If you have the time and desire to produce this information on a regular basis, you could have a successful podcast with a huge following. Use them to build credibility, market yourself to prospects and keep people informed about your business.
