Home Based Business Is Calling Your Name
Most people think that the majority would like to work from home but in essence, working at home is not for everyone. Of course, working at home has many perks, but never ignore the inconvenience involved.
People feign for the freedom, making their own hours, sleeping in, no more commuting, you can take a day off whenever you want, you don't have to deal with co workers, and being your own boss.
All this sounds good, doesn't it? On the other hand, it is a great responsibility and very few are able to simply close shop at 6pm for the night as they can in a brick and mortar job.
You do not work set hours and you do not make a designated amount of money. Many like the idea of working at home so they can be with their families but do not forget the old adage, "Be careful what you ask for."
You must be able to truly balance dual roles of being a productive worker and be a parent. You must be able to set firm boundaries and make sure you use your business as efficiently as possible.
Balance will be both your best friend and your worst enemy. When you work from home it means that you are self employed. Self employment often reflects to some as one who is unemployed so you are an entrepreneur.
Many people see home workers as simply staying home. You must be able to cope with these obstacles and overcome them. There will be unexpected guests who think that because you're at home, it is time to socialize.
You may find the phone ringing off the hook just because you are home, so you must be available to chat. You don't want to be rude but sometimes it takes a hammer on the head for people to understand.
Put a note on your door you that says you are not available 8-5 and either get a phone line or send all calls to voice mail and check them later.
When it comes to opportunities at home, they are endless. You can work from a computer, accounting, billing, telemarketing, assembly rooms and day care, make arrangements of silk flowers, furniture finishing, or even knitting.
If you have a niche, there is a chance someone wants you!
