Email Newsletter! - Pros and Cons discussed here

by Dhruv Patel

The usage of Email Newsletters is growing day by day. This clearly shows that email newsletters are benefiting the internet marketers. Even though email newsletters are beneficial to the internet business, it has its own advantages and disadvantages too. So, if you are a beginner to this online market first understand the pros and cons of Email Newsletter before using it.

The Pros

Email newsletter allows the internet marketers to get in touch with their customers easily. An inexpensive way to build good relationship with your present customers in the online industry is email newsletter. Through newsletter the internet marketers gets the opportunity to promote their product and generate traffic to their site.

Newsletter helps you to have regular contact with your customers. Since, the newsletters are sent in regular intervals, sometime weekly once twice or monthly once you will be easily remembered by the customer. This consistency helps you to make your one time customer into a long term customer.

You can widen your online business by using this effective strategy. The newsletters are forwarded to various types of people. Some are customers in this and some are business people who want to tie up with you. So, this way your business can be widened.

The newsletters are easy to dispatch. You can deliver hundreds of newsletters in seconds which is not possible through traditional posting. Also traditional postal takes more time and days to reach the subscriber, hence it partially affect your business.

When you compare the cost of the email newsletter with the printed newsletter, the former one is always cheap. When you send manually it take more time and more money. But, the email newsletters can be preset, which means you can select the time and date of delivery and the autoresponder will do the rest of the job. Your email newsletter will be directed to all the people in your listing at the time set by you. So, you can do the job even without assistance of your staff.

The Cons

Timing is very important in the online business and email newsletter may affect your reputation if not sent in time. Most of the internet marketers promise the subscriber that they will receive newsletters either weekly or fortnightly or monthly once. But, in case if you could not meet the dead line, then the audience may not show interest in your product.

Some time you will have the intention to add some more news in your email letter, but you will not get sufficient space. The newsletters should not be too lengthy as subscribers will not show interest to read a newsletter with so many pages.

Not all the recipients are likely to read your newsletter. Most of the subscribers just delete newsletter without reading it and send it to trash folder. But, if you use an advanced autoresponder, you find out the people who are opening your email and who is not.

The one more disadvantage which I noticed in the newsletter is spam. At present all the email servers have spam filter and this filter sometime directs your newsletter to the spam folder. If your newsletter goes to the spam folder, then there is only less chance for your email newsletter gets opened by the customer.
